A former radio presenter from Ngcobo FM in Ngcobo, Siphamandla Simelane, advised young people to focus, and keep on chasing their dreams.

Simelane, originally from Ngxotho locality in Qumbu, celebrated Youth Month in a different way as he will now be joining Zibonele FM in Cape Town as a presenter of Current Affairs, on a show called Ezabahlali, from 18:00 to 19:00 in the afternoon, every week.

When I joined Ngcobo FM in September 2022, I did not know that it would open doors for me. I was doing Current Affairs, from 18:00 to 18:30 in the afternoon. Besides this I was also a Field Reporter. I have learnt a lot of things, and I am happy because it was my first time to be granted such an opportunity since I was still coming from high school.

He added that he cannot forget to appreciate the love and support he received from the founder and station manager of Ngcobo FM, Lusindiso Tantsi.

He confirmed that he had learnt a lot from his colleagues.

“I am sure I will use my experience I got from them to keep going. Besides being on air, I am also studying public relations online at Sakhikamva College, which is based here in Mthatha. By doing that, I am trying to make sure that I balance my life with education.”
