Police have opened a case of murder following the shooting incident that claimed the life of an eighteen-year-old male teenager in Mthatha this past weekend.
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Siphokazi Mawisa, it is believed that the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, November 3, on Mabutho Street in North Crest.
She said the circumstances surrounding the incident are part of the investigation.
“The case has been transferred to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) for further investigation.”
