Police open case of malicious damage to property after Port St Johns mayor’s house set alight

The house of Port St Johns mayor, Councillor Nomvuzo Mlombile-Cingo was burned in the early hours of Wednesday, October 5.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said the structure of the house was not destroyed as fire fighters managed to extinguish the blaze in time. However, some items were damaged by the fire.

“A case of malicious damage to property has been opened for further investigation,” said Nkohli.
