Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli confirmed that an Initiate (20) from Nkunzini Administrative Area in Lusikisiki died at an illegal initiation school on Thursday, November 23.
He said it is alleged that police were alerted by a health official about an illegal initiation school existing in the area, and the victim had already died due to an assault by unknown men at the school.
“The initiation school was initially destroyed to close it down, but someone (suspect) re-opened it, being not a registered traditional surgeon.
“The suspect is known and is at large as police are looking for him so that he can be arrested for unlawful circumcision and murder,” said Nkohli.
