Pastor, gospel singer, radio presenter and motivational speaker, Bishop Mduduzi Langa (37) has credited passion and hard work for the upward trajectory his multi-faceted career has taken in a rather short period.
Langa burst on to the gospel music scene in 2020, after years of working as a backing singer for several artists in the gospel industry, with the release of his debut solo album titled Unabantu Bakho Thixo Ngamaxesha Onke.
Since then, Langa has gone on to become a radio presenter of a motivational show which airs Wednesdays between 18:00 to 21:00 at the Mthatha-based community radio station Ingwane FM. He also has a motivational slot on the station’s breakfast show, which airs weekdays from 06:00 to 09:00.
He is also a full-time pastor of the Reformed Zion Christian Church, where he has spent almost half of his life, having started pastoring at the tender age of 19.
Having to juggle these roles has secured him four nominations at the Mpuma Koloni International Gospel Music Awards (MKIGMA), and the finals will take place in Gqeberha in December.
Langa, from Ngangelizwe Township in Mthatha, is a finalist in the best gospel artist, best motivator, best radio presenter and best gospel show categories at the finals, and public votes are needed to secure him the accolades.
He added that winning the best motivator award will mean much more for his fledging motivation career, as he has been nominated among internationally-acclaimed motivational speakers for the award. Langa is also busy promoting his latest eight track album, titled Ngeke Avume Ngam, which he released in July this year.
Public votes for Langa in each of the four categories nominated can be cast by sending an SMS with the name of the category and Bishop Langa, for example “Best Motivator Bishop Langa” to 45611 at R1.50 per message.
Voting lines are currently open and will close on December 8.
Further information can be obtained by following him on Facebook as Mduduzi Langa.
