There are only two weeks left before Isizwe Boxing Promotions host their highly anticipated professional boxing tournament at Butterworth town, and one of the boxers from Mnquma is optimistic that he will do well against his opponent from Mhlontlo Local Municipality.
Masibulele Mbumba, from Zazulwana Village in Mnquma, is expected to fight against Lutho Mbuku from Mhlontlo, in a four-round welterweight bout on October 26.
This fight is important for Mbumba as it will be his first fight in the professional ranks and he is aiming at performing well.
Talking about his preparations for the upcoming event, the Zazulwana Village boxer, who is under the Zanethemba Boxing Gym, said he started to prepare for the fight in July this year and he is confident that he will not disappoint his fans on October 26.
“I have enough time to prepare for this fight and all my preparations are going well. All I can say is I’m ready for the fight,” said Mbumba.
Furthermore, he said all his supporters from Mnquma and surrounding areas must expect a fight which will produce fireworks when he meets Mbuku in the ring during the event.
Mbumba highlighted that he respects Mbuku because he is an experienced boxer on a professional level but at the same time he (Mbumba) wants to make his fans happy as he will be fighting at home.
“I’m not scared of Mbuku and I will not allow him to beat me at home and that is one of the reasons I started early to prepare for this fight,” he said.
Four other professional bouts are also expected to take place on the day and the main bout will be between Asandiswa Nxokwana from Centane and Sinesipho Mve from East London, fighting ten rounds in the catchweight division.
This main bout will be important to both females as they will be given a huge opportunity to showcase their talent in front of boxing supporters.
Nxokwana is expected to use her home advantage to win the fight, while Mve will try to ensure that she protects the dignity of East London.
The entry fee to watch the fights is R60 for adults and R30 for kids.
Isizwe Boxing Promotion has indicated that the event will start at 13:00 on October 26.
