The East London police are investigating a case of murder following the brutal shooting of four
people in what is believed to be a taxi violence related incident in Mdantsane Highway.

According to police spokesperson
Brigadier Tembinkosi Kinana, this is to ensure the immediate tracking, tracing
and subsequent arrest of the suspects involved in the killings.

Kinana said the shooting incident
occurred on Wednesday, August 10 at about 15:30 at Qumza Highway Taxi Association offices.

“According to the information, the
deceased aged between 30 and 45 were busy in the office together with others
who survived the attack, when they heard gunshots being fired into the offices.
Three people died instantly inside the office, with the fourth person believed to have been a bystander was also shot at while standing outside the yard in the street,” said Kinana.

He said the circumstances
surrounding the incident are not known at this stage and no arrests have been made this
stage.

“Police are therefore requesting
anyone who may have information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects to
