During the interview, the Real Gijimas Athletic Club athlete indicated that he had already started preparing for the upcoming event, aiming to deliver a great performance.
“I am invited to Cape Town to compete in a Stellenbosch 21km marathon scheduled for the end of the month. I am very excited about this invitation as it will give me an opportunity to showcase my talent in front of a big crowd,” said a visibly excited Malusi.
He mentioned that it would be his first time competing in the Stellenbosch 21km marathon, but he is targeting positive results, as he has thoroughly prepared for this upcoming event.
Malusi is no stranger to competing outside his province. Earlier this year, in April, he took part in the 21km TCS London race held in England, where he finished in seventh place and received a medal.
Following that great performance in England, his municipality, Mbhashe, organised an event at their offices to celebrate his achievement.
They also gave him brand-new pairs of running shoes and other sports equipment to motivate him in his journey.
Malusi competes in various provinces throughout South Africa and has performed well in all the events he has participated in.
This week, Malusi will depart for Cape Town, where he will wrap up his preparations. He aims to familiarise himself with the weather conditions of the province.
