The Director of Imboni Production, Bulelani Yaguga (30), from Lupapasi locality in Port St Johns, confirmed that they will host a film screening of My Blood at Tombo Hall in Port St Johns tomorrow, August 9, at 09:00.
According to Yaguga, they named the film My Blood because it is about the challenges facing families where relatives abuse others.
“It took us a year to finish it. It educates people about abusing others and educates community members about the abuse, showing the negative consequences of this behaviour. I can confirm that this is our first film,” said Yaguga.
He added that even though people of his age like music, he has chosen to focus on film because it has a significant impact on conveying messages to people. Yaguga said they are busy working on another film, Zindithwaxile, which will also be screened soon. According to him, the editor is Mongezi Zozi, who is from Ntsimbini locality, and the cast is locals from Port St Johns.
“We are asking people to support us on this day so that they can see that good things do happen even in rural areas. We have a tendency to think that these things happen only in big cities, but now we are changing that mindset. That is why we appeal to community members to support us,” he concluded.
