Executive Ladies, from Ntabankulu area under the Alfred Nzo district, missed another opportunity to book their place in the upcoming National Sasol League Championship competition, which will be played from October 2 to 7.

This follows after Executive Ladies lost 4–1 against the University of Fort Hare FC in the Sasol League decider held at the Dumpy Adams Sports Ground in Chris Hani Region, on Saturday afternoon.

Sasol League Inland Stream champions, Executive Ladies, went to the decider aiming at bouncing back, after they were beaten by Gqeberha team Sophakama Ladies’ FC at the same stage of the competition last season.

The Sasol League Coastal Stream champions, University of Fort Hare FC, were well-prepared for this important decider match, as they punished Ntabankulu 4–1, to be crowned as Eastern Cape Sasol league overall champions.

By winning the decider, University of Fort Hare FC have booked their place to represent the Eastern Cape in a National Sasol League Championship competition, to be held at a currently unconfirmed venue.

Teams who reach the final during this championship competition will be automatically promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Executive Ladies’ management, and the technical team led by coach, Khetho Ngonini, were left disappointed about the weekend results, and they promised to go back to the drawing board to fix their mistakes and come back stronger to compete again in the Sasol League Inland Stream.

The last time Ngonini’s troops won a decider game was in 2019 when they got an opportunity to represent the province in the National Sasol League Championship, but they failed to reach the final.

Meanwhile, it was the first time for the University of Fort Hare FC to win a decider since the establishment, or formation, of the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Now the university is excited to get an opportunity to represent the province, and they are targeting to do well.

Should the Fort Hare football club reach the finals in the championship competition, it means that the number of universities competing in Hollywoodbets Super League will increase to five.
