CIRCUS Triangle Mall, in collaboration with Shoprite, is proud to announce the continuation of their efforts to support the elderly in their community.

According to the statement issued by the Marketing Manager of Circus Triangle Mall, Sofia Mbombo Mwamba, following the success of last year’s ‘Cuppa for Gogo’ soup campaign, they were excited to introduce a similar initiative for 2024.

“This campaign is designed to provide a nutritious meal to the elderly who visit our centre to collect their SASSA payments,” said Mwamba.

She said last year’s partnership with Shoprite proved to be a tremendous success, offering warm and nutritious meals to many elderly individuals in need.

“This year, our aim is to expand on that success, ensuring that even more people benefit from our initiative.”

She said the preparation of meals will once again be overseen by a seasoned Shoprite Kitchen Manager, ensuring that the food provided is not only nutritious but also prepared to the highest standards of quality. Distribution will occur on designated days to accommodate the schedules of those collecting their SASSA payments.

“We are grateful for the continued support from Shoprite, whose commitment to community welfare aligns perfectly with our mission. This partnership exemplifies the positive impact that collaborative efforts can have on our community. About Circus Triangle Circus

Triangle is dedicated to supporting the elderly and vulnerable members of our community through various initiatives and partnerships. Their centre serves as a hub for social support and community engagement.

About Shoprite

Shoprite is committed to making a difference in the communities it serves, providing not only essential goods but also support through various community upliftment programmes.

On the other side, they discovered in 2023 that Ideas Day Care Centre in Mandela township of Mthatha, which caters for a total of 45 children aged between six months and five years old, regrettably, was battling with the condition of the pre-school facilities being far from ideal for these little ones.

According to their statement, urgent repairs were needed, including new doors, windows, and security measures to ensure their safety.

Building upon the support they provided in 2023 when they equipped them with essential school materials, their commitment extends to repairing critical school structures this year, in partnership with their contractors in a phased approach to make the repairs feasible and affordable.

“Our primary goal is to create a safe and conducive learning environment for the children of Ideas Day Care Centre. By addressing the urgent need for repairs and security improvements, we aim to provide a space where children can learn, play, and grow without concerns for their safety.”

Community Engagement and Support

She added that as part of community engagement, they collaborated with their grocery tenants to donate fresh fruit, sandwiches, and juice to the children for a day filled with care and support.

This initiative not only provides nutritional support but also fosters a sense of community and togetherness.

Partnerships for a Better Tomorrow

To make this initiative a success, they have partnered with various stakeholders, including contractors, local media, and community organisations.

Our key partnerships include:

. Contractors

: Working closely with skilled professionals to ensure timely and effective repairs.

. Mthatha Express

: Collaborating with local media to raise awareness and support for the project.

. Grocery Tenants

: Joining hands with local businesses to provide nutritious food for the children.

.
A Phased Approach understanding the complexity and costs involved: Our approach will be phased, ensuring each step is completed efficiently and effectively. This method allows us to manage resources wisely and maintain continuous progress toward our goal of a fully renovated and secure day care centre.

Join Us in Making a Difference

Everyone in the community is invited to join us in this noble cause. Together, a better and brighter future can be created for the young children of the Ideas Day Care Centre.
