Police in Coffee Bay have launched a manhunt for two alleged
murder suspects following the fatal stabbing of a 50-year-old man at a local
tavern on October 16.

Police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the
incident is alleged to have occurred at about 22:00 when the deceased and the two
suspects were embroiled in an argument and the victim was subsequently stabbed
on the upper body.

“Suspects are known, and arrests are imminent. A case of
murder is under investigation,” said Mdleleni.

In another unrelated incident, Willowvale police arrested
three suspects aged between 23 and 33 at Wendana Village for possession of
illegal firearms.

“Police were attending to a crime scene at Msenda Village
when they received information about men who were having illegal firearms. They
proceeded to the men’s residence and searched the three suspects.”

“The trio were found in possession in possession of
unlicensed firearms and the third suspect was found to be in possession of
ammunition. The three were arrested immediately and charged for possession of
unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” said police spokesperson Captain Siphokazi
Mawisa.

The three suspects were expected to appear in court
yesterday, October 17.
