WHEN amapiano singer and the founder for Dingo Records PTY (Ltd), Sivuyile Dingo, aka Mr Dingo, from Fairfield location in Mthatha, lost his leg after a car accident in December last year, he did not know how he would manage to continue to make a living.

Dingo focused on his music career so that he could put food on the table.

“I used to look for jobs so that I could be able to look after my family but when I was involved in a car accident, just a few kilometers from home, I lost hope after my doctors told me that I would never use my leg again and it was amputated.

“As a result, now I have one leg, but I decided to follow my heart and use my talent in music,” said Dingo.

He said he had now released his new song, titled mtshanam, which is available on all music streaming platforms.

Dingo encouraged people living with disability to use their talents. He said that they should go out and do something instead of feeling sorry for themselves.

“The situation changes us sometimes but that does not mean we must give up in chasing our dreams. Being disabled does not mean your dreams are dead.”

Dingo confirmed that he is also on a mission to educate other people who are disabled, so that they can gain confidence.
