Libode businessman and owner of Dololo Funeral Parlour, Justice Madolo, has handed over a newly built house to the destitute and orphaned Nkonzo family, in his home village of Coza, in Libode.
The family of three siblings and their four children are also Madolo’s neighbours.
This is the fourth house to be built and handed over by the philanthropic businessman for a destitute family, as part of his corporate social investment initiatives.
He previously built two houses for destitute families in Port St Johns and another in Libode between 2017 and 2019.
Madolo has further given permanent employment to one of the Nkonzo family siblings, who joined his company in June this year.
The newly built house consists of two bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen, as well as a veranda.
Madolo says the building project started in June this year after he noticed that the family house the orphaned siblings previously lived in was in a poor condition and leaking water inside during rains.
“This is a family that I have been taking care of, even before the building of the house, in terms of making sure that they have food to eat, and that their children have uniforms for school, as some of them are not getting any social grants from government.
“To make sure that there is someone who can provide for the family, I have taken a decision to permanently employ one of the siblings in my company,” Madolo said.
He said he had seen and continued to see to their health needs by paying for their doctor visits when they fell sick.Madolo has invested R180 000 towards the building of the new house.
