CANDICE BEDSER, certified nutrition consultant, with an immense passion for gut health and Barbara Dobrowsky a neuro life coach joined forces to host The Ladies Wellness Talk; a fun, educational morning of networking, empowerment, self-discovery and intimate and interactive conversations at the Warmkaros Connect in Southernwood, East London on March 15.
“We were overwhelmed by the interest in this event and plan to host another event in the near future. We booked 7 Pop Up Shops as part of our Wellness morning and they include Cavendish for gifts, Exotic Marigold for clothing, Annique Rooibos for skincare, tea and other rooibos products, Lime Fusion for health products, Mighty Greens for microgreens, Radhiant Diagnostic Imaging for mammogram education. We also had a sponsor, Local Sodas, who provided the Ladies with a refreshing welcome drink,” Candice told the Express.
Barbara said the event being sold out a week in advance was a powerful confirmation that so many women are eager to take control of their well-being in a sustainable way. “This overwhelming response showed the need for a supportive, safe space where women can learn, grow, and feel empowered.”
Candice’s session was an education on Gut Health and she shared her secrets to a balanced life and weight loss and Barbara’s focused on how our brain influences weight management and why stress drains our energy and affects our sense of control. She took the attendees through an engaging session, focusing on the deep connection between emotional weight—stress, anxiety, and feelings of not being “good enough”—and physical weight. She also highlighted the power of the subconscious mind in shaping our habits, emotions, and responses to stress.
“I wanted to bring something unique and impactful to the community—an event that doesn’t just talk about self-care but actively empowers women with tools to break free from the cycle of emotional eating and yo-yo dieting.”
Candice, an advocate for scientific research on Female Health said she hopes to help women heal their bodies through food science and my building knowledge for health issues like PCOS, Insulin Resistance and Hormone Imbalances.
Attendee, Beverly Cawthorn who described the event as informative said she enjoyed it very much.
“I found it very stimulating to spend the morning with like-minded women who are interested in new and different ways of improving their lives and ways of living,” she said.
