Radio presenter, philanthropist and community development activist, Sisonke Maguma, is appealing for public votes, as he looks to clinch the Tru Talent Search competition in the radio presenting category.

Maguma is currently a finalist, together with 17 others, in the radio-presenting category of the talent search competition.

The finalist who garners the most public votes will get a yearlong contract as one of the on-air personalities at Tru FM, something Maguma believes will help him realise his dream of becoming a household name in radio presenting.

He currently plies his radio presenting trade as the host of Weekend Warm Up, which airs on weekends between 23:00 and 02:00 on Sajonisi Youth Radio, a community radio station based in Port St Johns.

“As a community radio station presenter and someone who loves and is passionate about radio presenting, it is imperative that one grows and graduates to being a presenter in one of the national radio stations and me being a finalist in the Tru Talent Search competition is a step ladder towards me realising that dream,” Maguma said.

Public votes for Sisonke Maguma can be cast by sending an SMS with the words Radio 15 to 39721 at R1.50 per message sent.

Voting lines are currently open and will remain so until the cut-off date of October 28.

The person who casts the most votes for their preferred finalist also stands a chance to win R5 000 in cash at the end of the voting campaign.

Besides radio presenting, Maguma is known for his philanthropic and community development acti-vities including the Put a Smile Campaign and Socks Drive, among others.
