Siphosonke
Galoshe (34), believed to be a schoolteacher, made a brief appearance before
the Mthatha Magistrate’s Court this morning, October 17, in connection with the
murder of King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Local Municipality traffic officer
Daniel Mxoli (60).
Mxoli was
shot and killed while issuing a traffic offence ticket to a motorist at the
corner of Sutherland and York Street in Mthatha on October 10.

Galoshe
handed himself to the police on Friday, October 14.
King Sabata
Dalindyebo employees packed Court F in Mthatha to see the man accused of
murdering their colleague, while those who could not find space inside court
picketed outside against granting of bail to the suspect.
The matter
has been postponed to October 24 for formal bail application with the state
indicting it will oppose granting of bail to the suspect.
Mxoli will
be remembered during a memorial service to be hosted by the KSD municipality on
Wednesday, October 19, at the Mthatha Town Hall.
His funeral
service will take place on October 23 in Ngqeleni.
