District police commissioner Major General Phumzile Cetyana has applauded South
African police Service members for being dedicated when executing their duties.
In an
unrelated incident, a KatKop based police officer has been commended his swift
action which led to detection of stolen livestock and arrest of two suspects.
This comes
after Warrant Officer Noqazo received positive information about a vehicle
transporting stock from Ngqaci locality on October 29.
“Warrant
Oficer Noqazo proceeded to the area and spotted the vehicle. The driver could
not provide any documentation to load or transport the livestock. He then
pointed out the person that sold the stock to him and, on further
investigation, he also did not have proof of ownership of the livestock,” said
police spokesperson for the Joe Gqabi district Captain Ursula Roelofse.
Roelefse
said both men were arrested, and the four cattle being transported were
confiscated.
