CENTANE community development activist, Vuyo Flente, has unveiled his new venture in his never-ending thirst for community and youth development through the establishment of Likhanye Youth Movement, a foundation that will champion the development of disadvantaged youth and communities.

He said that the foundation would not be associated with any political organisation but would be solely focused on alleviating the plight of the disadvantaged youth.

Flente previously contested a by-election for Ward 28 of the Mnquma Local Municipality, where he hails from, under the banner of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) but did not succeed.

“Likhanye Youth Movement will be focused on the development needs of the people, especially the youth in rural areas. We will work closely with schools on issues such as drug and alcohol abuse, gender-based violence and collection of sanitary towels and shoes for disadvantaged schools, as well as food parcels for destitute families,” Flente said.

“The organisation will also be at the forefront of agitating for improved service delivery and will work closely with ward councillors, traditional leaders and municipal authorities in that aspect,” added Flente.

He added that the foundation had already been registered and those who wished to partner with it could contact him directly on 063 438 3004.
