The Director for Boundless Talent Modelling Academy, Olwethu Mosana (28) from Dutywa, confirmed that she opened her academy in February this year, after she saw that parents were always requesting her to train their children in modelling.

Besides being the director, Mosana is a student at King Hintsa FET College, while she is also a hawker in Dutywa town. She said that currently she is training 15 children of both genders.

“My training starts from those who are four up to 25. I did not plan to do this, but after I saw the passion for modelling in my daughter, Pawulothando Mosana (7), I developed a love to do more,” she said.

She said that she knew that she was supposed to start when she was six, but she decided to try her because she was not shy at all and was willing to spread her wings even though she was only four. Mosana said she trained her daughter and entered her for Miss Idutywa Town, in which she was named second princess in 2021. She again came home with a crown from Miss World South Africa that was held in Germiston, also in 2021. She has won lot of competitions so far,” said Mosana.

She said that after some of the parents saw this [her daughter doing well in pageants], they started asking her to train their children, which is how she ended up opening this academy. She confirmed that she trains them on Saturdays.

“Sometimes they are instructed to wear the uniform of what they want to be one day. Pawulothando wanted to be a police officer, so I ended up sewing a uniform for her. After that I took her to the Dutywa Police Station to inform the station commander so I do not get arrested when they see her in the street, wearing a police uniform. Even if she changed one day and wants to do something else, I will support her. I wish parents would allow their children to follow their dreams, because it may happen that a child will depend on his/her talent for a living.”

Mosana added that they should support their children; even teachers must also play a role in this. She confirmed that if her child can follow her dream, it means she will manage to pay for her fees, while she (Mosana) works hard so that they can be able to have food at their home.
