UNIVERSITY of Fort Hare FC from Alice, and City Lads FC from Gqeberha, are aiming to register back-to-back victories when they entertain their opponents in the league matches this weekend.

On the other side, Butterworth team Thunderbirds Ladies is still searching for their first victory of the season in the Hollywoodbets Super League, after the 21 games they have played so far without a win.

Over the weekend, two Eastern Cape teams in the Hollywoodbets Super League made their province proud, when they collected maximum points against their opponents, while one of the provincial teams, Thunderbirds Ladies, has continued to drop points.

Alice-based team University of Fort Hare FC defeated Copper Belts FC 3–0 away on Saturday, to remain in the 11th spot on the log standings, with 24 points after 21 matches.

Meanwhile, Gqeberha team City Lads’ FC punished their neighbours, Thunderbirds Ladies, by 4–1 at home in the Eastern Cape derby on Saturday.

Both teams went to this league clash aiming for maximum points, as they targeted to improve their bottom log standings in the Hollywoodbets Super League.

After the weekend results, City Lads’ FC climbed the log standings from 14th to 13th, with 17 points and overtaking Durban Ladies’ FC who dropped points against First Touch FC Ladies when they lost 3–1.

Currently, Butterworth team Thunderbirds Ladies is still the only side in Hollywoodbets Super League yet to register even a single victory this season, and they sit at the bottom of the log standings with three points.

Above them, in 15th position, is Lindelani Ladies from KwaZulu-Natal with four points.

This weekend all Eastern Cape teams will be in action again in the Hollywoodbets Super League, when Thunderbirds Ladies will visit mid-table side Richmond United.

City Lads will be welcomed by Royal AM and the University of Fort Hare FC will host the University of Pretoria.

All these league fixtures will take place on Saturday afternoon, and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies are still leading the Hollywoodbets Super League log standings with 56 points, followed by UWC FC with 44 points.
