The Eastern Cape Department of Education MEC, Fundile Gade officially launched a state-of-the-art podcast studio at the Mandla Makupula Leadership Institute in East London on Monday, August 26.

The cutting edge facility, designed to enhance eLearning, departmental communication and channel broadcasting is said to position the country in a better digital space.

Speaking at the launch, Gade said there are plans in place for the department to open the same kind of facility in the next few months in Cofimvaba, to make sure that schools across the province can access broadcasted lessons.

“With this eLearning broadcasting facility, we are now provincialising teaching and learning and we will be utilising the best educators we have,” he said. Gade said this is part of the broader strategy of ensuring meaningful, structured and organised content of learning.

Excited Grade 7 learner, who will be pursuing Mathematics and Physical Science studies in high school next year to fulfil his dream of a career in engineering, Buncoko Mbatha, says this is a game changer. “It is so cool that our country is evolving and catching up. We are here to experience and experiment.”

The YouTube Channel is ECDOE Broadcast Studio.
