Police can confirm that a man (33) was fatally shot after he allegedly pulled a firearm when the police officers were attempting to arrest him at Ntshiqo location in Tsolo yesterday, October 3.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli said the second suspect (19) was arrested and was due to appear, on October 4 in Tsolo magistrate’s court on charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances and common robbery.
He said it is alleged that members from various specialised units were acting on information about one of the wanted suspects, who was believed was hiding at the house in Tsolo.
“Police officers on arrival at the scene, few male suspects started running out of the house in different directions, but one of them started to pull out a firearm and was fatally shot.
“Police managed to arrest one of them, who was fleeing the scene. An inquest docket was opened, and the matter is going to be investigated by the independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID),” said Nkohli.
