SASOL League Inland Stream champions Executive Ladies are pleased to be nominated for a radio award after they displayed a top performance in the recent season when they finished their campaign without a defeat.
Last week Alfred Nzo Community Radio announced that a Ntabankulu-based team, Executive Ladies, is among five teams who are nominated in a category called Best Sports Team of the Year.
The teams who will be competing in the category are Sinenkani FC, FC Siyanda, Amaxesibe FC, Matatiele Netball Club and Executive Ladies.
All the teams were shortlisted after they were voted for by listeners of Alfred Nzo Community Radio.
Chatting with Executive Ladies captain, Thembeka Pam Zoko, she said as much as they are excited about the nomination, they were surprised by the nomination because they didn’t expect it.
“Though we are surprised about the nomination, at the same time we are very excited about our nomination and it means a lot to us,” said Zoko.
She said this nomination would motivate them as players, whether they win the award or not, but it will boost their confidence when the season starts.
Zoko also thanked all the listeners who voted for them during the nomination process and urged them to continue voting for them in this category.
For voting for Executive Ladies, listeners and team supporters must SMS NzoFM 589 to 45633 and each SMS is charged at R1.50.
Votes opened on October 11, and close on November 15, and the event to announce award winners will be hosted on November 22.
Voters are allowed to vote as much as they can. Executive Ladies is hoping that their listeners and supporters will do their best to help them win this one for the first time.
