FC Ravens head coach, Sibusiso “Popo” Mapompo, expressed his joy after winning against his former team, Mighty Eagles FC. Ravens secured a 1-0 victory over Eagles in a tough encounter held at Mafumbatha Stadium this past Saturday.

The winning goal was scored by Knowledge Miyeni. This win is significant for both teams. The victory for Ravens puts them in a strong position to win the EC ABC Motsepe League Inland Stream.

The Mthatha-born coach, Sibusiso “Popo” Mapompo, credited Mighty Eagles for their game plan on the day. “Mighty is a great team that is continuing to grow,” said Mapompo. “Before I left Mighty Eagles, we had a plan with their technical team on how we were going to beat FC Ravens. Unfortunately, I left the team, so what happened today is that they came and played straight with that game plan.”

“As FC Ravens, we had to improvise during the second half and make some changes to approach the game differently. Mighty Eagles are a top team. For their first season in the ABC Motsepe League, they have already achieved a lot. I knew this game would be difficult to play against them.”

“I told FC Ravens players not to underestimate the opponent. I am very excited about the win, but the league is not over yet. We still have three matches to play before the end of the league,” said the coach.

So far, FC Ravens are in first position with 30 points, followed by Sinenkani FC and Mighty Eagles FC, both with 23 points. However, Sinenkani FC still has a match in hand.
