President Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in Mthatha today, June 13, where he visited the Effata Bridge where a bus carrying 13 learners was swept away by flood water.

The visit by Ramaphosa follows the June 10 heavy rains and strong winds that killed over 70 people and destroyed property.

Ramaphosa’s entourage includes Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube, Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi and Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane.

This is a developing story.
