WITH only one day left to vote for \u201cJeffreysbaai\u201d as South Africa\u2019s Town of the Year, Nina\u2019s in Da Gama Road is the place to be today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All those who have not yet voted, are invited to come and cast their votes at the popular eatery on May 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Five votes will earn you a free coffee, tea, cappuccino, cold drink, craft beer, wine or gin. The promotion is limited to one drink per voter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Joe Ferreira, chairman of the Kouga Business Forum, said the whole of Jeffreys Bay was buzzing with excitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe support from all sectors of our community has simply been fantastic. Several networking sessions have taken place to get everyone on board and local businesses have been offering great incentives to those who vote,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe would like to thank each and every one of them for getting behind Jeffreys Bay\u2019s bid to be crowned as the Kw\u00eala Town of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Freddie van Rooyen, of the community organisation Masikhathalelaneni, said the competition was like a dream come true for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt\u2019s been wonderful to see people from all walks of life working together and getting to know one another. Collectively, we can win this competition and draw more tourists and investors to our region,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, Kouga Mayor Horatio Hendricks has called on all residents of the Eastern Cape to support J\u2019Bay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe are proud that J\u2019Bay has been chosen to represent the Eastern Cape and would like to appeal to everyone in the province to support the town,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The national winner will receive R1-million\u2019s worth of free marketing through Kyknet while Kw\u00eala will also host a massive celebration, featuring top artists and entertainment for the whole family, in the winning town in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeffreys Bay will compete against Fochville (Gauteng), Wakkerstroom (Mpumalanga), Modimolle (Limpopo), Montagu (Western Cape), Upingtong (Northern Cape), Parys (Free State), St Lucia (KwaZulu-Natal) and Mariental (Namibia).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
