THE highly enjoyable and successful JBay Personal Trust Bowls Business League at Jeffreys Bay Bowling Club came to an end on Tuesday, 13 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some 24 local businesses battled it out over seven weeks on Tuesday evenings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final winners were Trink, who beat runner-ups Barry van Wyk Transport and Pieterse\/ Jan Visser Prokureurs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winning team was made up of two youngsters aged 14 and 11 \u2013 proving that lawn bowls is not just for old people. Their father played for a different business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Zayne Bekker has now joined the club as a full member. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis event was even more successful than the previous events \u2013 despite the fickle weather,\u201d says Keith Wakelin from the Jeffreys Bay Bowling Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe weather could be perfect through the week, but as soon as Tuesday arrived, so did overcast conditions, wind and sometimes rain. It was quite uncanny. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cDespite this, the teams battled on and really enjoyed themselves, and many teams were heard to say \u2018we will definitely be back for the next one\u2019.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The majority of the teams who played in the initial league back at the beginning of 2017 are still taking part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
