Lee Barker, Sales and Marketing Manager of the Marina Wharf, is excited about the holiday season. \u201cExpect more than ever before,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Think: scrumptious food, music, water lapping on the shore, island vibe . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The only waterfront restaurant in the area, Marina Wharf offers a leisurely boat cruise to patrons, couples on a romantic date night, families and a free water taxi service to residents of Marina Martinique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Skipper Fraza Sekeramai expertly takes up to 12 people on the Spirit of Greece on a lovely trip on the canals in the exclusive Marina. The mini voyage allows you to sit back, relax, forget about the bustle around and build up a hearty appetite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Owners Michael and Michelle Petrelis are hands-on and welcoming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lee says, \u201cWe offer a boat cruise special until December 15, when we expect the holiday-makers. Couples can take advantage of the date night special until then, which includes a bottle of bubbly, a 30-minute cruise and a delicious platter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nearby Waterpark will be heaven-sent to parents who want to kick back and soak up the sun. The Wharf plans to park a food truck at the beach bar and serve snacks. They can swim, play, tuck into the food and beverages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At night the atmosphere will be transformed by fire torches, music, a beach braai and the island vibe. And of course, the cruise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe expect up to 500 people a day in the peak period, usually running from December 15 until early January,\u201d says Lee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The young chef, Leo Dausi, who had his initial training at 3 Fat Fish, charms with his dishes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He entices me with a ridiculously luscious carrot cake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Wharf is plastic-free and environmentally friendly, offering vegetarian and vegan options; but a sure winner for this season will be the breakfast buffet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cJoin us for a Christmas lunch to remember this year, for the whole family \u2013 furry children welcome! This is a time to be jolly and we aim to do that with a live band, DJ, all night dancing,\u201d says Lee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
