PROFESSIONAL Jeffreys Bay surfer, Dylan Lightfoot, was named the king of the waves of the annual 2019 City Surf Series Men\u2019s Championships after securing a win at the Port Alfred Classic and consistent semi-final places in three of the four events in the series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With a difference of only 335 points, Josh\u00e9 Faulkner from Pells-rus in Jeffreys Bay who held the lead going into the final event of the season, claimed a second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2019 City Surf Series Women\u2019s Champion title was for the first time awarded to an international athlete: Japanese surfer Minami Nonaka. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
With only 215 points separating the first and third place on the 2019 CSS Pro Junior Men\u2019s ratings \u2013 the title of 2019 City Surf Series Pro Junior Men\u2019s Champion was scooped up by Eli Beukes from Kommetjie \u2013 the only athlete to take two wins in the series this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a battle of the goofy-footers for the 2019 City Surf Series Pro Junior Women\u2019s Champion with Ceara Knight (Scarborough) looking in form and focused throughout the 2019 series. With a second place finish at the first event of the year, Knight backed it up with a win at the Royal St Andrews Hotel Port Alfred Classic which saw her fellow rival Zo\u00eb Steyn placed second in the event. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Steyn needed to win the final event on the calendar this year in order to take the title, but with her falling just short in second place, it was Knight who has taken top honours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
