{"id":54762,"date":"2019-07-25T06:01:55","date_gmt":"2019-07-25T04:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/kougaexpress\/eskom-to-switch-off-whole-of-kouga-20190724-2\/"},"modified":"2019-07-25T06:01:55","modified_gmt":"2019-07-25T04:01:55","slug":"eskom-to-switch-off-whole-of-kouga-20190724-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/kougaexpress\/eskom-to-switch-off-whole-of-kouga-20190724-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Eskom to switch off whole of Kouga"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ESKOM will be switching off the power supply to almost all of Kouga on Wednesday, August 14.<\/p>\n<p>Kouga Infrastructure &#038; Engineering Portfolio Councillor, Freddy Campher, said the parastatal had notified the municipality that it would be switching off the power to the whole of Jeffreys Bay, Humansdorp, St Francis Bay, Cape St Francis, Oyster Bay, Hankey, Patensie and Loerie on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Areas that will be excluded, are Thornhill and the Gamtoos River Mouth area, whose power is supplied by the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Municipa-lity.<\/p>\n<p>The interruption has been scheduled from 05:00 to 18:00.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notification, the interruption is necessary for new installation work and planned maintenance by Eskom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to remind residents that all electrical appliances must be treated as live during the down period,\u201d Campher said.<\/p>\n<p>The shutdown is subject to the weather.
