CENTRESTAGE will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the year 1984, as they present 80 favourite 80s hits in The Real 80s Dance Party<\/i> at St Francis Links at 20:00 on Friday, December 27.<\/p>\n
Featuring Gino Fabbri, Wayne Kallis, Tara-Jane Stern, Thuba Myeki and James Smith, the show challenges audiences to \u2018Party like it\u2019s 1985\u2019.<\/p>\n
It features music specially chosen to take audiences back to their youth to the days they celebrated at Lillies, Faces, Village Green, Strawberry Fields, Limelight and the clubs of the then Port Elizabeth 80s scene.<\/p>\n
This is a whole new tack for Centrestage, as instead of the usual 35 songs featured over the course of the evening, they will cast aside the tiresome 80s clich\u00e9s in favour of the songs you loved at that time. <\/p>\n
They promise to keep the non-stop 80s party going by performing top 80s songs within three hours.<\/p>\n
The 80s icons featured include the likes of Alphaville, Billy Idol, Blondie, Bronski Beat, Corey Hart, Dead or Alive, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Eurythmics, FR David, Falco, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Howard Jones, Huey Lewis and the News, Kim Wilde, Nick Kershaw, Prince, Soft Cell, Styx, Talking Heads, Tears for Fears, The Cure, The Thompson Twins, \u2018Til Tuesday, UB40, Wang Chung and Yazoo.<\/p>\n
Songs such as Big in Japan<\/i>, Tarzan Boy<\/i>, Cruel Summer<\/i>, Words<\/i>, Midnight Man<\/i>, Like to Get to Know You Well<\/i>, Too Shy<\/i>, Male Stripper<\/i>, Major Tom<\/i>, Never Gonna Give You Up<\/i>, Safety Dance<\/i>, Voices Carry<\/i> and Underneath the Radar<\/i> will also be included in the mix.<\/p>\n
