You will not only be teaching them a valuable skill, but also a valuable life lesson on giving back to the community.<\/p>\n<p>\n <b>Send us your photos<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>Send us photos of yourself or your child (or husband) knitting that beanie, scarf or little block to make up a blanket. You can email photos to Monique.Basson@media24.com or you can post them on our Facebook Page.<\/p>\n<p>\n <b>Kindness Like Confetti<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>The PE branch of the JHB-based NPO, Kindness Like Confetti, has been running in PE since February 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe run various ongoing projects throughout the year,\u201d said Margi Newton from Kindness Like Confetti PE.<\/p>\n<p>Their dedicated team of Joseph Jersey knitters and crocheters produce amazing work throughout the year. <\/p>\n<p>They work on projects long before they are due.<\/p>\n<p>Their knitting\/crochet project includes the creation of the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> Beanies &#8211; handed out to a cancer drive, homeless people, old age homes and prem- and newborn babies;<\/li>\n<li> Baby booties, knitted teddies and blankets;<\/li>\n<li> Jerseys given to children in children\u2019s homes and impoverished areas;<\/li>\n<li> Knee blankets given to the aged and to a cancer drive;<\/li>\n<li> Scarves and gloves handed out to aged and shelters for the homeless;<\/li>\n<li> \u2018Twiddle Muffs\u2019 for dementia patients at old age homes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe have patterns for all of the above, but we welcome items made by knitters and crocheters using their own tried and trusted patterns,\u201d Newton said.<\/p>\n<p>Owing to the lockdown, they are requesting that all completed items be kept at home until such time as they can be either collected or taken to various drop-off points.<\/p>\n<p>So why not use your free time to knit or crochet items needed by the organisation?
