FOOD and music . . .<\/span><\/p>\n

Collect your take-away food this weekend, while taking a leisurely stroll or Tuk-Tuk route through the Take-Away Music Trail.<\/p>\n

The music trail, hosted by The Restaurant Collective and some of the finest musicians in town, will take to the streets from 17:00 to 18:00 on Saturday, June 27.<\/p>\n

Participating restaurants include Bay Pasta Co, First Light, The Mexican, Brewhaha, DeViswijff, JBay Bru Co, Potters Plaaskombuis, Kitchen Windows, Tampa Bay Spur, Meat Your Needs, Nina\u2019s, Tapas and Walskipper.<\/p>\n

Musicians will be playing for tips.<\/p>\n

This event follows the very successful Lockdown Music Trail last month.<\/p>\n

The Restaurant Collective<\/strong> <\/p>\n

A group of restaurateurs in Jeffreys Bay launched The Restaurant Collective to add vigour to the food and beverage industry and also to promote the industry by sharing best practices \u2013 a first for the region.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you are passionate about making delicious food and keeping your customers happy, treating them as if they are all part of your family, you need to think outside the box to keep that flow of warmth going,\u201d says Bay Pasta co-owner, Sonya Doris.<\/p>\n

\u201cJeffreys Bay has always been a close-knit community, especially when it comes to the business owners. In the face of any adversity, we all band together to find pro-active solutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe restaurants have taken the lead this time, in the stand against Covid-19, by forming The Restaurant Collective.\u201d<\/p>\n

All the restaurants in the collective will be implementing the same measures and protocols to keep their clients safe, as well as their staff, while providing excellent meals and top service.<\/p>\n

According to Doris, they believe that the community and restaurants can continue to operate successfully in conjunction with the government\u2019s recommendations.<\/p>\n

Protocols<\/strong> <\/p>\n

The following protocols will be implemented, across the collective, along with normal hygiene standards:<\/p>\n

1. Hand sanitation at the doors and on tables for all customers;<\/p>\n

2. Seating allocation will be spread out to limit close contact with other patrons;<\/p>\n

3. Extra disinfecting of tables, seating, condiment holders, speed points and menus after each use;<\/p>\n

4. Dedicated staff to sanitise door handles and bathrooms regularly;<\/p>\n

5. Only paper serviettes will be used, with dedicated disposal bins;<\/p>\n

6. Waitrons will wear gloves when serving and will provide safe contact service;<\/p>\n

7. Kitchen staff to wear masks, in addition to their normal hairnets, gloves and aprons;<\/p>\n

8. Restaurants will continue to operate after the recommended government hours in the capacity as take- away outlets with delivery service.<\/p>\n

Exciting plans<\/strong> <\/p>\n

According to Doris, there are many things that they can achieve as a collective.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have exciting plans for a new centralised website, with all the restaurants\u2019 take-away options, deliveries and accessibility for our patrons,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n
