INFORMAL food and craft traders have until October 26 to apply to operate at popular tourist spots in Jeffreys Bay, St Francis Bay and Cape St Francis this festive season.<\/p>\n
Kouga Community Services Portfolio Councillor, Daniel Benson, said five sites had been identified for informal holiday trading, namely, Dolphin Beach, Point and the Kabeljous lagoon area in Jeffreys Bay, Neville Road at St Francis Bay and Seal Point at Cape St Francis.<\/p>\n
He said strict regulations would apply. <\/p>\n
\u201cAll food trading must be conducted from a trailer equipped as a kitchen and not from gazebos or tents,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
\u201cFood trailers must also be certified with a valid Certificate of Acceptability and those that rely on gas must be in possession of a valid gas installation certificate and fire extinguisher. No open fires will be allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said all traders would be expected to comply with the relevant national legislation and local bylaws, as well as all COVID-19 requirements. <\/p>\n
\u201cPreference will be given to traders from the Kouga municipal area as part of our efforts to support and grow the local economy,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
Application forms can be downloaded from the municipal website at http:\/\/www.kouga.gov.za\/notice-board-item\/1266\/invitation-for-applications-seasonal-informal-food-craft-trading<\/span>. <\/p>\n Completed forms must reach the municipalit on or before noon on Monday, 26 October, and must be submitted electronically to ndesha@kouga.gov.za.<\/p>\n \u201cA certified copy of the applicant\u2019s
