Marius Lourens (64) van die NG gemeente Vanstadensrivier, is dood nadat hy twee weke lank in die hospitaal was met COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Lourens se dogter Elen\u00e9 Lourens-Botha het Saterdag vertel van hul gesin se hartseer om op so \u2019n moeilike manier afskeid te neem van haar pa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy pa het kortasem geraak en het \u00e1l die algemene simptome van die siekte gehad. Hy het regtig nie gedink hy gaan so siek word nie.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHy het gedink as hy COVID-19 kry, sal dit iets wees wat hy net kan wegblaas,\u201d s\u00ea Elen\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Lourens se vrou, Mariana, het hom twee weke gelede die Vrydagaand na die St. George-hospitaal in Port Elizabeth gebring waar hy dadelik opgeneem is. Vyf dae later is hy verskuif na die ho\u00ebsorgeenheid. Omdat dit onmoontlik is om pasi\u00ebnte met COVID-19 te besoek, was dit die laaste keer dat die egpaar naby aan mekaar toegelaat is en hy nog wakker genoeg was om te kon gesels.<\/p>\n<p>Vrydagaand, toe hy op sterwe was, is die gesin toegelaat om hom te gaan groet.<\/p>\n<p>Die egpaar se seun, Jean, oudste dogter, Marlene, en haar man, Christie Germishuys, het met Livestream ook ingeskakel om hul pa te groet.<\/p>\n<p>Lourens was sedert 1987 die predikant van die Vanstadensrivier-gemeente. Hy was ook bekend om sy skilderkuns, later ook beeldhouwerke. Hy het musiekopleiding gehad en was baie lief vir musiek.<\/p>\n<p>Die Lourens-egpaar het die afgelope agt jaar ook die Swan Lake Gardens, \u2019n trou-venue, asook onthaal-en-piekniekplek, in Theescombe, Port Elizabeth, bedryf.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2019n GELIEFDE predikant, ds.
