After responding to a complaint of a housebreaking in
\nprogress, police in Jeffreys Bay arrested a suspect for housebreaking and theft
\nin Jeffreys Bay on Wednesday, January 27.<\/p>\n
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli, it
\nis alleged that at about 05:10, police responded to\u00a0a complaint of a
\nhousebreaking\u00a0in progress\u00a0at a house in Wigler Street, Wavecrest,
\nJeffreys Bay.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeveral other patrol vehicles quickly responded with
\nmembers from Humansdorp K9 unit patrolling the vicinity,\u201d said Nkohli.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoments later, K9 members spotted a man fitting the
\ndescription scaling over a boundary wall of a house in Stockwood Street,
\nWavecrest, about a kilometre away from the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nkohli said the officers managed to corner the suspect and
\non searching him, a cell phone was found in his pants pocket.<\/p>\n
He further said a preliminary investigation\u00a0revealed
\nthat the cell phone belonged to the complainant of housebreaking and
\ntheft.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cA 41-year-old man is due to appear in the Humansdorp
\nMagistrate\u2019s Court on Thursday, January 28, on charges of housebreaking and
\ntheft,\u201d said Nkohli.<\/p>\n
Acting District Commissioner, Brigadier John Lebok commended
\nthe members for their swift response as well as the arrest and subsequent
\nrecovery of a stolen cell phone.<\/p>\n
A proper description of suspects is crucial when reporting a
