Due to the rapid rise of COVID-19 infections, the Garden Route part of the Sarah Baartman District has once again
\nbeen identified as a COVID-19 hotspot that potentially could unleash the third
\nwave in the Province.<\/p>\n

As part of the countrywide
\ngovernment awareness campaign on vaccination registration, Government
\nCommunications and Information Systems (GCIS) will launch phase 1 of their province-wide Vaccination Registration Awareness Activation Mobile Truck
\nroadshow. <\/p>\n

The launch will be on 14 June in Tsitsikamma’s Coldstream
\narea.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The awareness programme is also aimed
\nat sensitizing the public on the importance of continuous adherence to safety
\nprotocols as the third wave is fast approaching. <\/p>\n

The details of the truck
\nactivation in the Sarah Baartman District are as follows:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Residents will be
\nempowered on how to access and utilise the various platforms of the Electronic
\nVaccination Data System (EVDS) to register citizens aged 60 years and above for
\nCOVID-19 vaccination through drama and other exciting stage performances. <\/p>\n

Local
\nleaders will use this platform to encourage residents not to be complacent and to
\nstill adhere to the basic protocols, such as the wearing of masks, social distancing,
\nwashing of hands and sanitizing.<\/p>\n
