\u201cDue to technical problems at the Churchill Dam, which supplies water to Humansdorp, there is little to no waterflow at the specific dam and our local reservoirs do not receive enough water to supply the current demand,\u201d said Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks. <\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, residents must immediately cut back on their water consumption.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf they do not reduce their average water usage, the municipality will be forced to implement water rationing.\u201d<\/p>\n
This means that water will only be available from the taps for a few hours per day and will be shut off for the remainder of the day \u2013 as is currently being implemented in Hankey and Patensie.<\/p>\n
