The Rainbow Village Centre in Kruisfontein, which offers a unique place for the care and development of children and young people with various special needs, will be hosting an open day on November 6, titled Rainbow Village Day.<\/p>\n
Maxie Kamalski, Victory4All Trust administrator, said that Rainbow Village, a centre which offers education and care to children and young people with special needs, forms part of Victory4All, a non-profit organisation which aims at providing loving care and holistic Christian-based education to break the systematic spiral of poverty.<\/p>\n
Kamalski said that Rainbow Village exists to unleash the potential in every child at their educational centre and three foster homes located on the same premises.<\/p>\n
\u201cChildren with special needs are especially vulnerable when they are in poor and underresourced communities. In our area, there are very limited services for families with special needs children,\u201d said Kamalski.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe exist to create a hopeful future for children and families in need.\u201d <\/p>\n
As an organisation, Kamalski said their mission was to build learning centres of excellence, which were surrounded with care. <\/p>\n
They also aimed at having all stakeholders engage positively with each other and uphold godly values of love, justice, and humility, while collaborating to guide and develop each child in their care.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe vision of all our programmes at Rainbow Village is to release the God-given potential of every child and learner so that they can discover their purpose while growing at their own pace and reaching their fullest potential,\u201d said Kamalski.<\/p>\n
The organisation will be hosting their first Rainbow Village Day on Saturday to invite people to experience the joy felt at the centre every day and raise funds. <\/p>\n
Kamalski said at the centre\u2019s open day there would be good food, cooked by the staff and learners from the organisation, beautiful arts and crafts, created by the learners, for sale, fun activities for all ages, and live performances by local bands.<\/p>\n
In addition, there will be a chess tournament and a cupcake decorating challenge.<\/p>\n
During the open day, visitors will also be taken on a short tour around the village and there will be an information tent about their various programmes at the centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe aim at creating a space where we can share with all visitors how amazing all the kids at Rainbow Village are, by allowing them to experience their amazing talents. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe also hope that this will change some mindsets about people with disabilities as well,\u201d said Kamalski.<\/p>\n
She further said that their services were aimed at those from underresourced communities who did not have access to high quality care and the specialised educational services which they have been providing to learners since 1998.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur school fees are only R100 per child per month, but it costs us more than 15 times that per child each month to provide our services. We are also a fully donor-based organisation,\u201d said Kamalski.<\/p>\n
She said they were therefore hoping to have all their ingredients donated for the food stalls which will help the village use all sales made on the day towards their fund-raising goal.<\/p>\n
The open day will begin at 09:00 and there is no entrance fee required.<\/p>\n
All COVID-19 protocols will be followed at the centre during the open day and all visitors are required to wear face masks and maintain social distancing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
