Action-packed beach sport, soccer, and kiddies fun galore will keep residents and holidaymakers entertained at the Kouga Easter Festival set to take place from April 15-18.<\/p>\n
Kouga Executive Mayor, Horatio Hendricks, said the bulk of the action will take place in Jeffreys Bay.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe programme includes the third Je\u2019Vista One Touch tournament, the inaugural Easter 5km Fun Run, and a feast of children\u2019s activities, which young ones will be able to enjoy free on the Friday,\u201d he said. \u201cFootball fans are also in for a treat, with the Kouga Easter Soccer Tournament taking place at the Tokyo Sexwale Sports Stadium and the Pellsrus Sports Field for the duration of the long weekend.<\/p>\n
\u201cProfessional and social swimmers will also have the opportunity to take to the water during the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kouga Easter Soccer Tournament<\/p>\n
The festival will kick off on Friday, April 15, with the well-known and well-supported Kouga Easter Soccer Tournament. <\/p>\n
Organiser, Reggie Bezuidenhout, said up to 18 teams, including top clubs from Kouga and further afield, will take part in the tournament. <\/p>\n
\u201cReigning champions, Reggie\u2019s Academy of Jeffreys Bay, will be back to defend their title,\u201d said Bezuidenhout. \u201cReggie\u2019s Academy won the previous tournament without losing a single one of the seven matches they played to qualify for the final.\u201d<\/p>\n
The winning team will walk away with R20 000, while the first and second runner-up will receive R10 000 and R5 000 respectively. The tournament will take place from 09:00 to 21:30. For more information, contact Bezuidenhout at 082 654 8191.<\/p>\n
Je\u2019Vista One Touch<\/p>\n
Touch rugby will be added to the sports mix on Saturday when the Je\u2019Vista One Touch tournament kicks off at 09:00 at Dolphin Beach. <\/p>\n
Organiser Christo Botha, of 1Touch, said up to 32 teams, each consisting of eight players, were expected. \u201cIt\u2019s going to be a fantastic tournament, with lots of thrills and spills for spectators to enjoy. A highlight will be a fun match between the Je\u2019Vista Legends and Kouga Legends, to be played just after the semi-finals, before the ultimate decider.\u201d <\/p>\n
Teams can register from 07:00 to 08:00 at Je\u2019Vista on the day. <\/p>\n

Easter Fun Run<\/p>\n
Hendricks said the Saturday programme would also include the first ever Easter 5km Fun Run, which is set to start and end at the grass area next to Tampa Bay Spur in Jeffreys Bay. <\/p>\n
Along the course, participants will be met with Easter egg stations where they can fuel up with Easter eggs. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis will be a themed fun run, so dress up and show us how creative you can be,\u201d he said. The fun run will leave the starting blocks at 10:00.<\/p>\n
Easter Mile<\/span> <\/p>\n The sporting fun will splash to an end with the Easter Mile on Sunday, April 17, at Marina Martinique \u2013 offering a full programme of events to cater for all levels of swimming ability. There will be a 400m Dash, Half Mile, and the Mile.
