The Hospice also offers counselling services and pain relief treatment.<\/p>\n<p>The main branch of St Francis Hospice is situated in Gqeberha, and there is a satellite branch in Du Plessis Street in Humansdorp. The comprehensive services are offered in the entire Kouga area, including towns like Jeffreys Bay, KwaNonzamo, Humansdorp, Patensie, St Francis Bay and more. Nurses do home visits for treatment of severely ill people.<\/p>\n<p>To be able to offer and afford these services free, they rely on the goodwill of the public for donations \u2013 either money or goods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe mostly get monetary donations from the public, often donations from deceased family members, or people who buy goods at the charity shop in Humansdorp. However, since the lockdown two years ago, our donations and sales have declined to only about ten percent of what they used to be, but the need is still high,\u201d says charity shop manager Claudia Alberts.<\/p>\n<p>There is a variety of items on sale at the charity shop, including clothes, linen, curtains, books and CDs, paintings, shoes and crockery.<\/p>\n<p>The money earned from sales or donations is used for paying staff, petrol of staff, medications and helping the hospice in several ways.<\/p>\n<p>St Francis (the patron saint) Hospice has been offering these valuable services for the past 25 years.<\/p>\n<p>Alberts says, \u201cWe need any items to sell in our charity shop. We also welcome knitted items for patients, especially children.
