{"id":48112,"date":"2022-11-03T13:27:35","date_gmt":"2022-11-03T11:27:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/kougaexpress\/st-francis-hospice-receives-inverter-to-continue-services-20221102\/"},"modified":"2022-11-03T13:27:35","modified_gmt":"2022-11-03T11:27:35","slug":"st-francis-hospice-receives-inverter-to-continue-services-20221102","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/novanews.co.za\/kougaexpress\/st-francis-hospice-receives-inverter-to-continue-services-20221102\/","title":{"rendered":"St Francis Hospice receives inverter to continue services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During stage 4 load shedding, it became impossible for the office of St Francis Hospice to operate at full capacity.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the interactions with medical professionals regarding hospice patients, from initial referral to ongoing medical care and medication requirements, are conducted via email.<\/p>\n<p>Many urgent requests for assistance with care for family members, as well as requests for medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, were not being timeously attended to.<\/p>\n<p>All administration functions were being delayed.<\/p>\n<p>Sister Ingrid Williams from Hospice approached Rotary in St Francis Bay about this problem and true to form they undertook to find a sponsor for financial assistance towards an inverter.<\/p>\n<p>Richard Arderne, principal agent at Pam Golding, who has had personal experience of hospice care when they attended to one of his family members, stepped up to the plate. <\/p>\n<p>He fully sponsored the purchase of a highly effective portable inverter. It has made it possible for St Francis Hospice to continue to operate efficiently, even when the power is down.<\/p>\n<p>All the staff of St Francis Hospice say a heartfelt thank you to Rotary for
