BORN and raised in Gqeberha, passionate dancer Kirstin Rossi has been dancing from the age of six, and is now living her dream as the owner of Limitless Dance Studio, with branches in Gqeberha and Jeffreys Bay, where she plans to make her studio more accessible for dancers with special needs. <\/p>\n
From the first time she learned how to dance, Rossi never stopped, and instead continued to compete at regional and national levels.<\/p>\n
She later received her Federation Colours for South Africa, and represented the country at Talent America in New York City in 2015.<\/p>\n
Rossi said that when she matriculated in 2016, she moved to Cape Town and studied hip-hop teaching through the South African Body of Dance, obtaining her diploma in 2019.<\/p>\n
While completing her studies, Rossi also became a dance coach at the Dance Sport School League in the Western Province for two years.<\/p>\n
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, she moved back to Gqeberha, believing it was time to work towards opening her dance studio, while she continued to study for her modern teaching diploma online, through the South African Body of Dance, completing it in 2022.<\/p>\n
In the midst of her studies, she finally took the plunge and opened Limitless Dance Studio in 2021 at two different locations, Baakens Valley Dog Club in Gqeberha and her home in Wavecrest, Jeffreys Bay.<\/p>\n
\u201cLimitless Dance Studio proudly offers modern, hip-hop, dance fitness, wedding routines, commercial heels, and jazz in studio, as well as online,\u201d said Rossi.<\/p>\n
Through her dance studio she said that her students can complete exam sessions through the South African Body of Dance at various levels, from beginner to dance teaching diplomas.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy dream has always been to open a dance studio where anyone and everyone would be accepted,\u201d said Rossi.<\/p>\n
She said that she has a huge passion for working with dancers with special needs, and therefore plans to have more special needs dancers join her studio.<\/p>\n
\u201cI aim to build my studio to allow dancers with special needs to join in on the fun,\u201d said Rossi.<\/p>\n
She currently has three special needs students who compete in various dance competitions, and she offers dance lessons to six special needs learners at Super Student Academy Special Education in Gqeberha.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though we do have a few special needs dancers at our studio, we are encouraging more people with special needs to attend our dance sessions,\u201d said Rossi.<\/p>\n
She said that her studio recently competed in various competitions, such as Talent Africa, Friendly City Dance Festival, and Nelson Mandela Bay Dance Festival where they received incredible results.<\/p>\n
Rossi said that their overall results for the three competitions include one high gold, 15 gold, nine high silver, 32 silvers, and 10 bronze for the 2023 dance season.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt has been an honour and privilege to teach my students. They inspire me and motivate me to be better every day,\u201d said Rossi.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is so rewarding seeing them fulfill their dreams on stage, beaming from ear to ear.\u201d<\/p>\n
