The fifth
\nand final contest in the Rip Curl GromSearch series 2023 will take place from
\nSeptember 29 to October 1 at Seal Point, St Francis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With over 150 entries competing, it boasts one of the
\nbiggest entries in a junior surfing contest and is a testament to the popularity
\nof this series in only its second year.<\/p>\n

Competitors have been in town for most of the week
\nalready, training and preparing for the event, which began at 07:30 this
\nmorning, September 29. There have been some great waves around in the whole St
\nFrancis area, and these \u201cgroms\u201d have been impressing all who have seen them.<\/p>\n

After
\na run of bad weather battering the country, the forecast for the weekend in the
\nEastern Cape looks promising, with offshore winds for most of the tournament.<\/p>\n

This year,
\nthe series focused on the Premier u\/16 division, where the winners will not
\nonly claim the coveted winner’s trophy but also walk away with a handsome R6 000
\ncash prize.<\/p>\n

Seal Point’s waves have a reputation for being great
\nduring this time of the year, making it the perfect venue for the climax of the
\nGromSearch series and an ideal canvas for these young talents to showcase their
\nskills and push the boundaries of their abilities. <\/p>\n

Rip Curl’s unwavering support for the GromSearch series
\nunderlines their dedication to fostering the growth of surfing in South
\nAfrica.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This tournament is a Surfing South Africa event and will
\nagain have u\/12 boys and girls, u\/14 boys and girls, u\/16 boys and girls, and u\/18
\nboys and girls divisions competing. The competition is a Premier SAST event,
\nwith 1 000 points for the winners and prize money per premier event.<\/p>\n
