During this year\u2019s 100km Sunrise to Sunset walk successfully hosted in Jeffreys Bay and surrounding areas, one walker decided to dedicate her 100km to support the JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary with an enormous donation of pet food and veterinary items from Sheree Stone of Pet Lovers\u2019 Market and Maggie Myburgh from Cape Cross veterinary clinic in Jeffreys Bay.<\/p>\n

Louise Kemp, one of the founding members of this event, is a lover of animals and cares deeply for all causes related to animals and their needs. She decided to use this major walking event to assist in a local charity\u2019s efforts to keep their animals fed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalk for a Cause is a platform that we offer to anyone who wants to walk their 100 kilometres for a charity close to their hearts, raising money per kilometre as they walk,\u201d said Mia Gain, co-founder of the 100km Sunrise to Sunset walk.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany ladies over the years have walked for various charities, from school feeding schemes, school shoe collections, animal shelters, child havens, just to name a few. This project and walk for a cause have ploughed more than R2.4 million back into the businesses and charities in the communities where we are active.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cJBay ARS would like to congratulate Louise Kemp and all the women walkers who did the Sunrise to Sunset 100km walk. We are most grateful for being nominated as the beneficiary. JBay ARS would also like to express our gratitude to the Pet Lovers\u2019 Market and to Cape Cross Veterinary Clinic for going the extra mile and organising the most generous donations from their suppliers. These donations really assist us in helping the many animals in need,\u201d said Sandy Young of JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary. <\/p>\n

While walking all those kilometres, Kemp said that she kept the happy and healthy animals in mind and her immense gratitude to Sheree Stone from the Pet Lovers\u2019 Market and Maggie Myburgh from Cape Cross Veterinary Clinic without whom the big donation would have not been possible. <\/p>\n
