represent the Eastern Cape in Miss Hotlegs South Africa 2023. <\/p>\n<p>This will be her second national pageant for 2023. <\/p>\n<p>Van Niekerk said that she decided to enter to raise awareness about breast cancer as part of breast cancer awareness month in October, as a family member was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing treatment.<\/p>\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"Blockquote\" data-pos=\"middle\" id=\"embed_519bd1e9\">\n<div class=\"text\">I wish to remind women of their strength and capabilities as women in power.<\/div>\n<div class=\"citation\">Van Niekerk<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI believe that national and international platforms are important to use to create action and change and raise awareness for causes and issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The overall winner of this title will represent South Africa on an international platform in 2024 at either Miss Heritage in Thailand or Miss Multiverse in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n<p>Van Niekerk said that the finals will be held in Johannesburg, Gauteng on October 29.<\/p>\n<div contenteditable=\"false\" data-embed24=\"Images\" data-pos=\"middle\"
