Ons betaal enorme bedrae aan belasting, en niemand staan op vir ons regte nie, of sien om na ons beleggings in die dorp nie,\u201d s\u00ea Soria Swart, \u2019n wykskomiteelid. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cNet uit Wyk 3 word 33-miljoen rand per jaar aan belasting betaal. Ons wil toesien dat dit vir infrastruktuur gebruik word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Daar was eers \u2019n algemene vergadering gehou, waar \u2019n komitee toe verkies is. Die groep wat verkies is, meen dat politiek en politieke verteenwoordiging nie in die vereniging hoort nie en dat bekwame mense aangestel moet word. Swart s\u00ea, \u201cOns wil die munisipaliteit aanspreeklik hou vir wat met ons geld gedoen word. Ons wil help om oplossings te bied en nie teen die plaaslike owerheid werk nie.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hulle meen die vereniging moet \u2019n spreekbuis wees om namens almal wat \u2019n belang in die dorp het, te verteenwoordig. \u201cDit beteken dan dat ons onafhanklik is en \u2019n groter magsbasis het. Die groep sal ook goeie begrip h\u00ea van die munisipaliteit se werking,\u201d verduidelik Swart.<\/p>\n<p>Verskeie bekwame mense maak reeds deel uit van die eerste komitee. Dit sluit \u2019n argitek, regskenner en \u2019n voormalige raadslid in. Die vereniging beoog om werkswinkels te hou oor belastingbetalers se sake. Met die hulp van die vereniging op St Francisbaai, het die vereniging op Jeffreysbaai ook nou \u2019n plan. Dis baie belangrik dat mense kennis neem dat dit nou bestaan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Voordele<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Die voordele van \u2019n belastingbetalersvereniging is dat daar onder meer maandeliks met die speaker van die raad skakeling sal wees. \u201cOns gaan \u2019n waghond wees en dienslewering aan-spreek. Raadslede doen dit op \u2019n politike vlak, maar die vereniging op \u2019n a-politiese manier,\u201d s\u00ea Swart.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aansluit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Belastingbetalers word aangemoedig om by die vereniging aan te sluit. Swart s\u00ea hoe groter die magsbasis, hoe groter is die bedingingsmag. Ledegeld word op 1 Maart betaal. \u2019n Privaat lid sal R200 per jaar betaal, en \u2019n besigheid R300, en pensionarisse R150.
