After spending more than a year at JBay Animal Rescue Sanctuary, the cats Bobby and Rio have finally left their temporary place of shelter to join their new families, where they have been receiving much-needed love and attention.<\/p>\n

Sanctuary manager, Cindy Muller, said that while visiting the Kareedouw area more than a year ago, a woman in the area asked her to take her cat as she no longer wanted it.<\/p>\n

She said that Rio, who is four years old, was then handed over and has been with the sanctuary for a long time. <\/p>\n

\u201cRio is a loving boy who gets along with everyone,\u201d said Muller.<\/p>\n

Similar to Rio, she said that Bobby was also brought in unwanted by his owners early in 2023, and has continued to stay at the sanctuary.<\/p>\n

Muller said four-year-old Bobby was not doing well in the cattery and was unhappy.<\/p>\n

\u201cBobby is a relaxed cat, but often gets bullied in the cattery. He was in desperate need of a loving home of his own,\u201d said Muller.<\/p>\n

In the hope that the two cats will be adopted and eventually have a home of their own, on multiple occasions Kouga Express<\/span> published pictures and a short description of each.<\/p>\n

Now both cats have been adopted by loving families.<\/p>\n

Doret Visser from Jeffrey Bay sadly experienced her rescue cat\u2019s passing in December last year.<\/p>\n

She said that even though she had not planned to get another cat, when she read Rio\u2019s story and saw his picture when it was published in Kouga Express<\/span> for the second time, she knew she had to have him.<\/p>\n

\u201cRio is quite happy to cuddle up and watch some TV with me and enjoy rubs and cuddles,\u201d said Visser.<\/p>\n

After their older cat passed away recently, Daniel and Monica Malan from Cape St Francis wanted a friend for their adopted cat, Margo.<\/p>\n

The couple have since adopted Bobby who they have renamed Archie.<\/p>\n

Monica said that Archie is a very sweet little cat.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been a bit cautious of his new surroundings, all the new sights and sounds, but definitely coming out of his shell,\u201d said Monica. \u201cHe loves tuna and catnip.\u201d<\/p>\n

Muller said it has been awesome that both cats have found homes.<\/p>\n
