HUMANSDORP <\/strong>– Chimone Windvogel (32) was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment after pleading guilty at the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court recently to her involvement in the plot to kill Kouga councillor Jaques Alexander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As previously reported<\/a>, Alexander was shot in broad daylight outside the Kouga Municipality Main Building in Da Gama Road, Jeffreys Bay in February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As he was parking his vehicle on the street, a vehicle passed him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two suspects got out of the vehicle and fired shots at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alexander was rushed to hospital and survived the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to court documents, Windvogel became involved in the case in January this year when she shared information about Alexander’s home security system with Andy Davids, one of the accused in Alexander’s attempted murder case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her guilty plea agreement, she said “I admit that Andy asked me about the security setup of the complainant’s (Alexander) premises. He asked me about his home cameras and how they were situated, and I gave him that information.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the court documents, Windvogel knew that the idea was to shoot the security guards to kill Alexander.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being aware of the intent to kill, she shared Alexander’s security information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luxolo Tyali confirmed that Windvogel was convicted on one charge of conspiracy to commit murder, and she has been sentenced to 15 years’ direct imprisonment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
